01GPU tier beats everything else in the listing
Between two laptops at the same price, the one with the higher GPU tier almost always wins for gaming — even if the CPU is a step down. A slower CPU costs you a few frames. A slower GPU costs you a settings tier.
02Sustained power draw is the spec nobody prints
The same GPU can be configured anywhere from 85W to 140W. That gap is worth 20-25% in real frame rates. Look for total graphics power in the detailed specification sheet, not the headline.
03Panel brightness under 300 nits is a daily annoyance
Refresh rate gets all the marketing attention, but a dim panel affects every minute you use the machine. Under 300 nits, working near a window becomes genuinely difficult.
04Check for a second M.2 slot before you buy
A free slot means a ₹4,000 upgrade in two years instead of replacing the drive. Two RAM slots matter for the same reason — soldered memory ends the conversation permanently.
05What to actually do
Set your GPU tier from your target resolution, then filter by sustained power, then panel, then upgrade paths. Price sorts itself out once those four are settled.
